Job summary

Amazon Web Services, Inc. in the United States seeks a Communications Security (COMSEC) Custodian/Officer to manage COMSEC accounts and engage with mission partners nationwide. The role requires US citizenship and an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph, with travel up to 15%.

The team supports Government customers, develops procedures, trains partners, and ensures compliance with security policies across AWS locations, including Arlington, VA.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in COMSEC, networking, or IT support for the Federal Government
• Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph
• Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences, including executive level stakeholders or clients
• Experience in regulatory compliance management with government agencies
• 2+ years COMSEC experience as a Primary or Alternate COMSEC Custodian
• Experience with various Type 1 Cryptographic devices, keys and loaders

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain COMSEC accounts regionally, including on-site troubleshooting and inventorying devices
• Appoint and train partner teams to support ad-hoc requirements
• Update AWS policy doctrine to ensure compliance with customer requirements
• Vigorously audit individuals accounts
• Review proposed new programs requiring COMSEC for security of the program
• Advise management and mission partners on current and planned COMSEC postures
• Maintain liaison with Government customers and COMSEC vendors on standards and policies
• Serve as COMSEC SME on inter-agency groups, committees, and task forces
• Maintain 100% accountability of all COMSEC items
• Provide support and oversight over multiple COMSEC accounts across sites
• Develop and update operating procedures and EAPs based on site and partners
• Conduct semi-annual COMSEC and EAP training for custodians
• Perform COMSEC material backups, upgrades, reconciliations, and inventories
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to support information security programs
