Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in IT or similar technical field.
  • Security+ or equivalent DoD 8140 certification.
  • 3+ years of experience in computer support, help desk support, or IT customer service.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and prioritize effectively.

Description The Computer User Support Specialist (Journeyman) provides day-to-day technical support to government users, helping maintain reliable operation of computer systems, printers, VoIP phones, and related IT assets. This role is responsible for troubleshooting hardware and software issues, supporting end users with timely and professional service, maintaining accurate inventory records, and following established procedures to ensure consistent support across the program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot desktop hardware, software, printers, and VoIP telephones.
  • Support user connectivity and basic network access needs.
  • Maintain accurate assignment and tracking of IT assets and inventory.
  • Deliver user guidance and basic training on systems, devices, and software as needed.

  • Maintain strong customer service standards and positive working relationships with government users.
  • Follow established procedures, program requirements, and inventory control practices.
Requirements
  • Bachelors in Information Technology (IT) or similar technical field.
  • Security+ or equivalent DoD 8140 certification.

  • Active Secret security clearance, depending on position requirements.
