Job summary

Apollo Professional Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Computer Support 1 for Newport News, VA on a contract basis with 2nd or 3rd shift.

The role supports computer, network, and client server environments, processes and monitors production batch jobs, and reviews logs for quality and accuracy. The position requires an Associate's degree or equivalent experience; familiarity with monitoring tools such as Control-M, Tivoli, and Network Manager, and experience with ticketing systems.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or 0 years experience acceptable.
• 2 years related experience can substitute for degree.
• 4 years non-related experience can substitute for degree.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools like Control-M, Tivoli, Network Manager or equivalent.
• Experience with a ticketing system (e.g., SMAX, HPSM).
• Datacenter ops not required but preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication to liaise with analysts and management.

Job description

Computer Support 1, Newport News, VA contract - 2nd or 3rd shift. Pay Range: $22.00 - $28.00 hourly. NOOT. 2nd shift: 3:30 pm - 11:30 PM; 3rd shift: 11:30 PM - 7:30 AM. Subject to experience.

Basic Qualifications

Job Description

Computer Support 1 Performs a variety of duties in support of a computer, network (LAN/WAN), and/or client server unit.
Reviews input data to verify adequacy and appropriateness of material required for data processing and related operations.
Reviews output data to verify completeness, accuracy, and conformance to quality standards and specifications.
Maintains internal records and may catalog, disperse, and return tapes/disks.
May review daily processing logs and may set or revise schedules.

Duties

Computer Support 1 Performs a variety of duties in support of a computer, network (LAN/WAN), and/or client server environment.
Processes and monitors production batch job processing in a multi-system environment.
Observes equipment and processes via monitoring software and monitors consoles for operator messages or error indicators.
May perform clerical work incidental to machine operations such maintaining production records, data center and visitor badging logs, and team shift reporting.

Additional Information

Computer Support 1 This position requires 24X7, 365 days in a year onsite support.
Weekends and holiday shift work will be needed.
