Job summary

Insight Global in Auburn, CA is seeking a Machine Operator to setup, adjust and operate 3-4 axis CNC mills and grinders. The role is onsite Monday to Friday, 7am-4:30pm, supporting aerospace manufacturing with quality, efficiency, and compliance.

You will perform routine maintenance, take part in lead-time planning, and follow established procedures under minimal supervision. Candidates should have a high school diploma, 2+ years in a machine shop, and familiarity with GD&T and PPE.

Qualifications

• Education/Certification: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with 3 or 4 axis CNC mills and grinders.
• Familiarity with GD&T basics and PPE requirements.

Responsibilities

Job description

The Machine Operator works with computer-controlled (3 axis CNC mill with 4th axis and grinder attachments) equipment or more mechanically based machines to ensure they are set-up properly, working well, and producing high-quality products. The Machine Operator performs recurring assignments proficiently and independently and normally works under minimal supervision in accordance with established procedures and practices. This role will be onsite Monday-Friday, 7am-4:30pm in Auburn, CA.

Essential Functions:

• Setup, adjust and operate any or all of the following machines/equipment used in aerospace manufacturing; 3 and 4 axis CNC Mill, grinders, calipers, micrometers, etc.
• Make manual adjustments to the machine interface and controls, as required, to optimize performance, ensure proper operation, and validate product compliance
• Meet and establish lead times to support customers’ needs
• Perform routine maintenance of equipment in respective area of responsibility
• Any other task assigned by supervisor or management

Required Skills & Experience

• Education/Certification: High School Diploma or equivalent
• Operating 3 axis vertical mill with 4 axis attachment and grinder attachment
• 2+ years of experience in a machine shop.
• Experience with a 3 or 4 axis CNC mill
• GD&T basic knowledge
• Comfortable in PPE
• Comfortable with lifting up to 25lbs

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance; knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
• Aerospace experience or manufacturing experience in regulated field

Compensation

0-4 years exp= $26-30/hour

4+ years exp= $32-37/hour

We will help anyone outside of the Bay area relocate with a sign-on bonus up to $5000 and a separate $1000 sign-on bonus for new hires.
