Job summary

Bluewater Hayes Inc. is seeking a Structural/Architectural Revit Technician in Charlotte, NC to turn engineering ideas into buildable models and construction documents.

You will work across structural, architectural and MEP disciplines, drafting plans, elevations and details for steel, concrete and masonry structures. Ideal candidates have 1+ year BIM experience with Revit and AutoCAD, plus strong coordination and communication skills.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of structural drafting or BIM experience using Revit.
• Solid skills in Revit and AutoCAD with structural detailing.
• Experience supporting structural engineers on steel-framed buildings; cold-formed steel a plus.
• Knowledge of hot-rolled steel, concrete, and masonry.
• Strong communicator; able to work independently or in a team.
• Experience coordinating across structural, architectural, and MEP docs.
• Engineering technology degree preferred, hands-on experience valued.

Responsibilities

• Build BIM models and 2D drawings in Revit and AutoCAD for structural and architectural design.
• Draft plans, elevations, sections, and details for steel, concrete, masonry.
• Create coordinated sets from specs, blueprints, and contracts.
• Apply codes (egress, ADA, fire separation) to drawings.
• Produce shop drawings and installation graphics for field crews.
• Generate bills of materials from Revit models.
• Maintain Revit standards and manage multiple projects.
• Join coordination meetings to resolve design issues early.

Build the models that turn engineering ideas into real buildings. Our client, a growing single-source building manufacturer, is looking for a Structural/Architectural Revit Technician to create detailed models and construction documents that keep projects moving from design to the field.

Projects You'll Work On

• Build accurate BIM models and 2D construction drawings in Revit and AutoCAD for structural and architectural design.
• Draft plans, elevations, sections, and connection details for steel, concrete, and masonry structures.
• Turn engineering specs, blueprints, and contracts into coordinated, buildable construction sets.
• Apply code knowledge, including egress, ADA, and fire separation, to keep every drawing compliant.
• Create shop drawings and installation graphics that give field crews clear direction.
• Generate bills of materials and quantity take-offs straight from Revit models.
• Manage Revit standards for the department and juggle multiple projects without missing a deadline.
• Join coordination meetings with engineers and other disciplines to solve design issues before they reach the field.

What Experience You Should Bring

• 1+ year of structural drafting or BIM experience using Revit.
• Solid skills in Revit and AutoCAD, with a real grasp of structural detailing and drafting.
• Background supporting structural engineers on steel-framed buildings; cold-formed steel experience is a strong plus.
• Working knowledge of hot-rolled steel, concrete, and masonry construction.
