The Compounding Technician II works under a licensed pharmacist to reliably compound medications, maintain cleanroom standards, and mentor junior technicians. Responsibilities include preparing medications, maintaining equipment and logs, and ensuring quality through checks by a pharmacist.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification.
• Must be licensed or registered if required by state.
• Experience in pharmacy or healthcare preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacist with preparation and dispensing of medications per policies and state regulations.
• Prepare medications to ensure accurate compounding.
• Perform basic pharmaceutical calculations for correct dosages.
• Review and inspect compounded and packaged medications for quality.
• Ensure compounding and packaging are approved by licensed pharmacist.
