Job summary

Option Care Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician I to join our team and work in a clean room to compound medications at least 50% of the time under supervision of a licensed pharmacist.

You will assist with preparation and dispensing, perform basic calculations, and ensure accurate labeling while maintaining equipment and logs. A High School Diploma or GED and at least 1 year of pharmacy technician experience are required, with licensure as applicable by state.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 1 year of pharmacy technician experience.
• Must be licensed or registered (if required by the state).
• Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers.
• Able to perform basic & intermediate level mathematical calculations.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Basic level skill in Microsoft Word; Excel; PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacist with the preparation and dispensing of medications and supplies in accordance with policies & procedures and state regulations.
• Prepares medications so they are accurately compounded.
• Performs basic pharmaceutical calculations to obtain correct dosages.
• Accurately labels and packages medications.
• Participates in recognizing and reporting medication incidents.
• Maintain cleanliness of pharmacy surfaces and laminar flow hoods.
• Record and maintain pharmacy temperature and cleaning logs.
