Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking a Structural Design Engineer to support the design and analysis of the composite wind turbine blade structure, owning FEA activities using ABAQUS, PATRAN, and in-house tools. You will work with the Lead Structural Engineer to deliver results from pre-design to factory implementation, travel up to 20%, and contribute to root-cause analysis and design reviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Civil Structural Engineering from a reputed university.
• Global experience with cross-functional teams across cultures.
• Fluent in English, verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Own composite structure design and analysis for NPI blade, balancing performance, cost, and quality.
• Collaborate with Lead Structural Engineer to deliver FEA results within tight timelines.
• Perform ABAQUS and PATRAN FEA analyses and interpret results for design iterations.
• Identify design risks from 3D FEA and propose mitigation plans.
• Document FEA findings to meet certification and internal criteria for blade structure.
• Coordinate with Test and Validation centers to ensure required FEA for test blades.
• Participate in technical discussions with customers and certification bodies on blade structure.
• Lead or contribute to design reviews and root-cause analysis for blade failures.
