Job summary

L3Harris is seeking a Composite Manufacturing Technician to work on our inert manufacturing facility for fabrication and assembly of rocket motor hardware in Huntsville, AL. This 2nd shift 4/10 role involves hands-on composites work and uses lay-up, filament winding, cure, and related processes.

Requires 0–3 years of experience and a High School diploma. On-site, full-time position with opportunities to obtain a security clearance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with 0-3 years prior experience in Manufacturing.
• Security clearances may only be granted to U.S. citizens. In addition, applicants who accept a conditional offer of employment may be subject to government security investigation(s) and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Responsibilities

• Produce parts, components and final assemblies using composite fabrication, compression molding, metal fabrication, modification, checkout, re-work, quality testing, and assembly utilizing detailed work instructions, schematics, diagrams, layouts or manufacturing test development or diagnostic equipment.
• Prepare various components for lay-up, filament winding, cure and post cure using cured and uncured rubber materials and adhesives.
• Operation of various machinery and shop equipment which may include ovens, autoclaves, manual lathes, CNC lathes, CNC milling centers, manual mills, boring mills, presses, furnaces, mixers, grinders, swages, paint booths, fume hoods and overhead cranes.
