Element Materials Technology in Duarte, CA is seeking a Machinist I to join the composites team. You will perform routine and non-routine machining tasks, prepare testing specimens, and ensure accurate results under supervision.

The role requires experience with composites, safety compliance, and accurate measurement. You will work with cutting tools, autoclaves, and QA documentation in a fast-paced environment.

Formación

• HS diploma or GED preferred; college or vocational coursework welcomed.
• Associate degree in related testing or science field and/or 3–6 years machining shop experience.
• Experience with layup, bonding, machining of composites.
• Knowledge of laboratory safety and measurement tools.

Responsabilidades

• Machine composite pre-pregs and cut material kits for testing.
• Fabricate composite panels and perform vacuum bagging.
• Mix adhesives for bonding or casting operations.
• Operate autoclave for curing composites.
• Prepare specimens according to customer specifications.
• Design, set up and perform machining tasks per requirements.
• Mentor less-experienced machinists and share process knowledge.
• Maintain equipment and record QA-relevant dimensions.
