Qualifications

• Experience in layup, bonding, machining of composites (2-5 years).
• Handling of Pre-Preg and fabric materials used in composites manufacturing.
• Packaging and storage of temperature sensitive materials, and record keeping for out-time and shelf life
• Working knowledge of laboratory safety
• Must have earned Associate degree in related testing or science field and/or 3-6 years machining shop experience
• Depth of understanding related to machining concepts and measurement instruments

Responsibilities

• Work with composite pre-pregs to cut material kits and prepare for testing.
• Perform composite panel fabrication and vacuum bagging.
• Mixing of adhesives for bonding or casting operations.
• Operate autoclave for curing of composite.
• Use tables saws, bandsaws, conventional and CNC mills, router table, surface grinder.
• Gathers and records dimensions per quality assurance requirements
• Mentor and train machinists with less experience.
• Maintain equipment and schedule preventative maintenance.
