Job summary

Northrop Grumman is hiring a Manufacturing Technician 1 in San Diego for 2nd shift. You will handle fragile composites, perform layups, and bondings using pre-pregs, reading UD prep & woven layups. You’ll report progress, prepare tooling, and use calipers and rulers. Maintain cleanliness and follow written instructions to support aerospace manufacturing.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and some composite experience; associate's/technical degree preferred. US citizenship required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and 0-2+ years' composite lay up/bonding in manufacturing.
• Experience in composites/manufacturing environments (space/aerospace).
• Able to read/write and follow written instructions, blueprints or shop drawings.
• Proficient use of basic shop arithmetic and mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Handle and manage fragile composite materials in layup and bonding.
• Prep, lay-up and Bonding of composite products; layup of UD and woven pre-pregs.
• Report status and interface with other employees and departments.
• Prepare tooling and perform release applications; use measurement tools.
• Maintain shop appearance and cleanliness; execute written instructions.
