Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems seeks a Manufacturing Technician 1 or 2 for our San Diego site on 1st shift (5:00 am - 2:30 pm). The role performs functions across layup, panel fabrication and assembly in space hardware programs.

Responsibilities include handling fragile composite materials, bonding surfaces, interpreting blueprints, and using calipers and tape measures. Overtime, shift differential and a discretionary bonus may apply; strong benefits accompany the position.

Qualifications

• Close-tolerance assembly experience.
• Spacecraft assembly or integration experience.
• Experience in composites/manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated mechanical ability.

Responsibilities

• Handling and managing fragile composite materials.
• Bond, prep and bonding of composite structures to metallic fittings.
• Notate usage, traceability, pot life, and out time controls on all adhesive materials used.
• Report data and interface with other employees and departments.
• Tooling preparation and release application.
