Job summary

Blood Bank of Hawaii is seeking a Component Laboratory Supervisor (CLS) to oversee the manufacture of blood components, manage daily workflow, and supervise staff in the Component Laboratory. You’ll ensure timely, accurate execution of tasks under Manager of Operations guidance.

The ideal candidate will bring 3 years in health-related work, 1 year of supervisory experience, and preferably blood banking exposure.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Bachelor’s in Science in biological sciences or related field preferred.

Primary Purpose

Under the direction of the Manager of Operations, the Component Laboratory Supervisor (CLS) is responsible for performing, documenting and reviewing all tasks associated with the manufacture of blood components while managing staff, coordinating daily workflow and ensuring accurate and timely execution of tasks within the Component Laboratory.

Schedule

• 8-hour shift
• Day shift
• Evening shift
• Every weekend
• Weekends as needed
• Monday-Sunday
• Hours may vary, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Flexibility is a must.

Job Duties And Responsibilities

• Promotes company values and organizational goals

• Performs additional duties as assigned.

Education

• High School Diploma/GED
• Preferred Bachelor’s in Science in biological sciences or related field

Experience

• Three (3) years’ experience in health-related field.
• One (1) year of supervisory experience
• Preferred management experience of a health-related clinic/branch
• Preferred Blood Banking Experience
