Job summary

Blood Bank of Hawaii is seeking a Component Laboratory Supervisor to lead, supervise and develop staff in the blood component manufacturing lab. You will ensure safe, compliant operations and coordinate daily workflow under the Manager of Operations.

The role emphasizes supervising performance, maintaining quality standards, and driving continuous improvement within a fast-paced lab environment in Hawaii.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years’ experience in health-related field.
• One (1) year of supervisory experience.
• Preferred management experience of a health-related clinic/branch.
• Preferred Blood Banking Experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily Component Laboratory operations and staff.
• Leads, coaches, and evaluates staff performance, including hiring, training, and disciplinary actions as needed.
• Ensure compliance with quality, safety, regulatory, and SOP requirements.
• Oversee equipment maintenance, inventory, quality control, and process validations.
• Investigate deviations, implement corrective actions, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Promotes teamwork and support colleagues.
