Job summary

TSC's Production Solution team in Huntsville, AL seeks a Component Engineer to manage the selection, qualification, and lifecycle of electronic components used in radar, seekers, and other advanced systems. You will collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, configuration management, quality, and suppliers to support component decisions within a systems engineering framework.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, or a related field.
• 2–4 years of industry experience in concept/layout design phases with parts and materials.
• Basic understanding of electronic components and RF, microwave, digital, and analog tech.
• Familiarity with component qualification or screening concepts.
• Ability to read component specifications, datasheets, drawings, and standards.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional engineering environment.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance; U.S. Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Support the management, selection, qualification, and lifecycle of electronic components used in radar, seeker, and other advanced tech products.
• Assist with rapid development, demonstration, and initial product rollout of new technologies.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, configuration management, quality, and suppliers for component selection and lifecycle management.
• Maintain standard parts database and component management tools for identification and evaluation of qualified components.
• Create and maintain component specifications, source control documents, and other component docs.
• Research electronic/electromechanical components and provide technical information for component selection.
• Assist design engineering and manufacturing with component selection, handling, processing, and replacement.
• Support qualification and screening activities per customer/contract/PM&P requirements.
• Research component availability, lifecycle status, obsolescence, and alternate sources.
• Monitor GIDEP alerts and evaluate impact on development/production programs.
• Assist with component failure investigations and root cause analysis under supervision.
• Maintain accurate component records within PLM, ERP, and component management systems.
• Collaborate to resolve component-related issues across teams.
• Develop familiarity with industry standards and screening/qualification processes.
