Job summary

Lockheed Martin Space seeks an Electrical Component Engineer, Senior Staff (Level V) to lead EEE Parts Engineering for hardware design, qualification, and test. You will evaluate new technologies, collaborate with survivability, design, test and manufacturing teams, and liaise with DLA and test labs to ensure robust components for harsh environments.

You will mentor junior engineers, manage technical plans, and work across disciplines to deliver mission-critical space systems.

Qualifications

• Experience designing, analyzing and constructing electrical parts and circuits.
• Experience reviewing engineering drawings and specs and guiding design/test teams.
• Experience establishing and implementing technical requirements (specs, program plans).
• Experience with failure analysis and root cause/corrective action for EEE parts.
• Active or current Secret clearance; U.S. Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Define and lead EEE Parts Engineering tasks related to hardware design, manufacture and test.
• Lead strategy for qualification, testing, and failure analysis of EEE parts.
• Prepare technical reports, specifications, and supplier evaluations.
• Coordinate with Design, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain teams.
• Work with suppliers and government agencies to ensure SE/quality requirements.

Lockheed Martin Space, Specialty Engineering, is seeking an Electrical Component Engineer, Senior Staff (Level V) to join our team. You will lead and/or assist in the performance of Electrical Component (Parts) Engineering, and development and execution of the program Electrical Electronic Electromechanical (EEE) Parts management plan. You will evaluate new technologies and work closely with survivability, designers, test and manufacturing engineers, agencies like DLA, Part Manufacturers and Test Labs. You’ll use your education, experience and expertise to develop and evaluate new and innovative technology to survive in the harshest of environments and most critical strategic systems.

Summary Of Key Duties

• Define and lead Electrical/ Electronic/ Electromechanical (EEE) Parts Engineering technical assignments related to hardware design, manufacture and test
• Define and lead in the strategic approach to selection, qualification, test, and failure analysis of EEE Parts
• Prepare technical and progress reports on assigned tasks, prepare specifications, evaluate suppliers and analyze test reports
• Coordinate with other disciplines such as Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Engineering, and Procurement/Supply Chain organization
• Work on electrical components such as resistors, capacitors, diodes, integrated circuits (ICs), hybrids, crystals, crystal oscillators, filters, fuses, heaters, magnetics, microcircuits, relays, semiconductors, thermistors
• Travel and work closely with suppliers and government agencies to ensure electronic component selections meet both quality expectations and product performance requirements
• Work with leadership on technical mentoring plans and development opportunities for junior engineers

Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice

Basic Qualifications

• Formal coursework, training, experience and/or knowledge in the design, analysis, and/or construction of electrical parts and circuits, semiconductor physics and/or operation of devices such as hybrids, integrated circuits, transistors, diodes and capacitors
• Advanced knowledge of design, functionality, manufacturing, materials and processes used in EEE parts
• Experience reviewing engineering drawings and/or specifications and providing guidance to design and test teams.
• Experience establishing and implementing technical requirements (specifications, program plans/ requirements, etc.)
• Experience or knowledge of failure analysis, destructive physical analysis and/or root cause and corrective action analysis related to EEE parts
• Eligibility/willingness to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance; U.S. Citizenship required

Desired Skills

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics or Materials Engineering with emphasis on electrical parts, semiconductor physics or related field of study
• Familiarity with technical requirements (specifications, program plans/requirements, etc.)
• Experience leading and presenting in major program milestone reviews such as PDR and CDR
• Advanced understanding of Nuclear effects on EEE parts and demonstrated ability to work closely with Survivability Engineers in strategic Rad Hard applications
• Familiarity with military specifications and engineering requirements
• Advanced understanding of worst-case analysis (WCA) / EEE parts derating and end of life requirements
• Experience in leading the evaluation of current and developing technologies for EEE parts in complex design packages
• Active or Current Secret clearance

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $145100.00 - $269500.00
