Job summary

Lockheed Martin Space in Denver, CO seeks a Staff Electrical Component Engineer to lead EEEE parts engineering, test, and supplier coordination for space-grade hardware. Qualifications

• Formal coursework, training, experience and/or knowledge in the design, analysis, and/or construction of electrical parts and circuits, semiconductor physics and/or operation of devices such as hybrids, integrated circuits, transistors, diodes and capacitors.
• Knowledge of design, functionality, manufacturing, materials and processes used in EEEE parts.
• Experience reviewing engineering drawings and/or specifications and providing guidance to design and test teams.
• Willingness/ability to obtain/maintain a Top Secret; US Citizenship Required

Lockheed Martin Space, Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) Program, is seeking a Staff Electrical Component Engineer to join our team in Denver, CO. You will lead and/or assist in the performance of Electrical Component (Parts) Engineering, development and execution of the program Electrical Electronic Electromechanical and Electrooptical (EEEE) Parts management plan. You will evaluate new technologies and work closely with survivability, designers, test and manufacturing engineers, agencies like DLA, Part Manufacturers and Test Labs. You’ll use your education, experience and growing expertise to develop and evaluate new and innovative technology to survive in the harshest of environments and most critical strategic systems.

In This Role You Will

• Lead and participate in Electrical / Electronic / Electromechanical / Electrooptical (EEEE) Parts Engineering technical assignments related to hardware design, manufacture and test.
• Lead in the selection, qualification, test, and failure analysis of EEEE Parts.

• Coordinate with other disciplines such as Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Engineering, and Procurement/Supply Chain organization.
• Work on electrical components such as resistors, capacitors, diodes, integrated circuits (ICs), hybrids, crystals, crystal oscillators, filters, fuses, heaters, magnetics, microcircuits, relays, semiconductors, thermistors.
• Travel and work closely with suppliers and government agencies to ensure electronic component selections meet both quality expectations and product performance requirements.
• Work with leadership on technical mentoring plans and development opportunities for junior engineers

Conducts or participates in the selection, evaluation, qualification, testing and failure analysis of Electrical, Electronic, Electromechanical and Electro-optical (EEEE) Components. Plans, directs, reviews and coordinates the preparation of project documentation to ensure customer contract and company requirements are met. Prepares EEEE Component Source Control Drawings (SCDs), evaluates vendors and analyzes EEEE Component test reports. The Component Engineer is responsible for the oversight of Subcontractor EEEE Components, generating/reviewing/approving Non-Standard Part Approval Requests (NSPARs) at Parts, Materials and Process Control Board (PMPCB) meetings, reviewing and approving engineering drawings and SCDs, participating/leading PMP issue resolutions and assisting/leading failure analysis under the EEEE Components domain.

Basic Qualifications

Desired Skills

• Bachelor's of Science in Engineering or related technical field
• Master’s or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics or Materials Engineering with emphasis on electrical parts, semiconductor physics or related field of study
• Familiarity with technical requirements (specifications, program plans/requirements, etc.)
• Experience leading and presenting in major program milestone reviews such as PDR and CDR
• Understanding of Nuclear effects on EEEE parts and demonstrated ability to work closely with Survivability Engineers in strategic Rad Hard applications
• Familiarity with military specifications and engineering requirements
• Understanding of worst-case analysis (WCA) / EEEE parts derating and end of life requirements
• Ability to evaluate current and developing technologies for EEEE parts in complex design packages
• Experience or knowledge of failure analysis, destructive physical analysis and/or root cause and corrective action analysis related to EEEE parts
• Experience establishing and implementing technical requirements (specifications, program plans/requirements, etc.)
• Extensive experience regarding the full life cycle of integrated circuits (ICs), discrete components, or magnetics (transformers), etc.
• Experienced in working with suppliers of EEEE components.
• Experience with digital IC design or mixed-signal IC design
• Knowledge of wafer fabrication processes, assembly, and test
• Understanding of semiconductor product life cycle from post-silicon bring-up, device characterization, qualification, pre-production support, release to volume production and product sustainment
• Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice
• Active or Current Top Secret clearance

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $118000.00 - $219100.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
