The Role

As a Senior Component Engineer, you will serve as a critical liaison between design engineering and the supply chain, spearheading the development and execution of comprehensive Electrical Electronic Electromechanical (EEEE) Parts management plans. In this role, you will evaluate components for mission suitability within the most hostile environments and navigate complex military specifications to ensure the integrity of critical strategic systems. Your responsibilities will include resolving technical challenges and non‑conformances during manufacturing and testing, oversight of LM and Subcontractor EEEE Components, and participating/leading PMP issue resolutions with the Parts, Materials and Process Control Board (PMPCB).

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Authority: Serve as the responsible engineer for EEEE parts, ensuring all components meet program‑specific reliability and performance requirements.
  • Design Support: Collaborate with design teams to select optimal parts, perform derating analysis, and conduct Worst‑Case Analysis (WCA).
  • Risk Mitigation: Lead efforts to identify and mitigate risks associated with counterfeit parts, lead‑free finishes, and part obsolescence.
  • Failure Analysis: Drive Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective Action (RCCA) for component failures or production anomalies.
  • Lifecycle Management: Participate in major program milestones, PMPCB, and interface directly with customers and sub‑tier suppliers.
The information below reflects the standard job description for this position:

The Component Engineer is responsible for the oversight of Subcontractor EEEE Components, generating/reviewing/approving Non‑Standard Part Approval Requests (NSPARs) at Parts, Materials and Process Control Board (PMPCB) meetings, reviewing and approving engineering drawings and SCDs, participating/leading PMP issue resolutions and assisting/leading failure analysis under the EEEE Components domain.

Basic Qualifications
  • Experience developing and applying technical requirements, including specifications, program plans, and engineering documentation.
  • Experience with interpreting engineering drawings and models while collaborating with cross‑functional teams such as Design, Manufacturing, and Quality.
  • Familiar with non‑conformance investigations, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and failure disposition activities.
  • Willingness/eligibility to obtain/maintain a Top Secret; U.S. Citizenship required.
Desired Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field with 3+ years of professional experience in Electrical, Electronic, and Electromechanical (EEE) components.
