Job summary

Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a Component Engineer to work on a broad range of projects in both laboratory and manufacturing environments. You will evaluate EEE parts, develop specifications, and collaborate with design, manufacturing, quality, and procurement teams to ensure contract and company requirements are met.

This role requires an Electrical Engineering degree, experience with EEE parts testing and failure analysis, and the ability to obtain a Secret clearance.

Qualifications

  • Background in Electrical/Electronic/Electromechanical parts testing, failure analysis or non-conformance resolution.
  • Experience with design, analysis, or construction of electrical parts and circuits.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance (US citizenship required).

Responsibilities

  • Participate in hardware development, manufacturing and testing assignments.
  • Evaluate EEE parts including ICs, passives, and hybrids.
  • Prepare technical reports, specifications, and test evaluations.
  • Coordinate with Design, Manufacturing, Quality Engineering, and Procurement.

As Component Engineer you’ll work on a broad range of projects, in both a laboratory and manufacturing environment, that will challenge you to learn and grow in your career. Working side by side with designers, test and manufacturing engineers, you’ll use your education, experience and growing expertise to develop and evaluate new and innovative technology to survive in the most hostile of environments.

In This Role You Will
  • Participate in Electronic Components Engineering technical assignments related to hardware development, manufacturing and testing.
  • Evaluate Electrical/Electronic/Electromechanical (EEE) parts, including integrated circuits, passive components, and hybrids.
  • Prepare technical and progress reports on assigned tasks, prepare specifications, evaluate suppliers and analyze test reports.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines such as Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Engineering, and Procurement.

The information below reflects the standard job description for this position:

Conducts or participates in the selection, evaluation, qualification, testing and failure analysis of Electrical, Electronic, Electromechanical and Electro-optical (EEEE) Components. Plans, directs, reviews and coordinates the preparation of project documentation to ensure customer contract and company requirements are met. Prepares EEEE Component Source Control Drawings (SCDs), evaluates vendors and analyzes EEEE Component test reports. The Component Engineer is responsible for the oversight of Subcontractor EEEE Components, generating/reviewing/approving Non-Standard Part Approval Requests (NSPARs) at Parts, Materials and Process Control Board (PMPCB) meetings, reviewing and approving engineering drawings and SCDs, participating/leading PMP issue resolutions and assisting/leading failure analysis under the EEEE Components domain.

Basic Qualifications
  • Electrical/Electronic/Electromechanical (EEE) parts related background or field of study
  • Professional or Academic experience with EEE parts testing, failure analysis and/or non-conformance resolution
  • Professional or Academic experience and/or knowledge in the design, analysis, and/or construction of electrical parts and circuits
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance, thru US citizenship is required
Desired Skills
  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline and/or equivalent work experience
  • Experience reviewing engineering drawings and/or specifications and providing guidance to design and test teams.
  • Experience working collaboratively with customers and teammates.
  • Experience establishing and implementing technical requirements (specifications, program plans/requirements, etc.).
  • Familiarity in the analysis of passive EEE parts, semiconductor physics and/or operation of parts such as hybrids, integrated circuits, transistors, diodes and capacitors
  • Active or Current Secret clearance
  • Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice
Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $70500.00 - $130900.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
