Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Mechanical, Aerospace, Nuclear, or Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum 10 years of related experience producing high-quality technical work products.
  • Extensive experience analyzing components to ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code Section III, Division 1 or similar.
  • Proficiency in finite element stress analysis and modeling tools with emphasis on ANSYS.
  • Experience with ASME NQA-1, MIL-Q-9858A, or ISO-9000 quality programs.
  • Registered professional engineer or ability to obtain license within 6 months.

Responsibilities

  • Develop system-level models to characterize thermal, seismic, and loading conditions for structural design basis.
  • Perform stress, fatigue, buckling, seismic and vibration analyses of reactor components using Mathcad and ANSYS.
  • Collaborate on static/dynamic analysis using linear and nonlinear approaches.
  • Establish and optimize nuclear component designs meeting safety requirements.
  • Prepare and review analysis documentation and design solutions.
  • Develop inputs and methodologies for structural sizing and loads for reactor components.
  • Conduct rigorous peer reviews to maintain engineering quality.
  • Assist management with technical planning and act as a technical contact for analyses.
  • Mentor junior engineers to build a capable analysis team.
