Compliance Specialist - Affordable Housing - Fully Remote

Summary

This position offers an opportunity to move beyond the routine duties of a traditional compliance auditor or specialist. The Compliance Partner role focuses on providing exceptional customer service while partnering with clients to achieve and maintain regulatory compliance. It offers the flexibility to work remotely, with support from a leading company in the affordable compliance industry. There is also potential to work in a state-of-the-art facility in Richardson, TX. The role is fully equipped with tools and resources to facilitate excellent job performance, and may include travel for on-site file reviews, training, and related activities, depending on contract demands.

Primary Responsibilities
  1. Client Support: Serve as the first point of contact for clients, communicating with site managers via phone and email to answer questions about affordable housing compliance and provide guidance/training.
  2. File Reviews: Electronically review applicant/resident files through a web-based system to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations within contractual deadlines; analyze risks to prevent compliance issues.
  3. Communication: Provide clear written updates on file deficiencies, relay important information, listen effectively to understand client questions, and communicate with internal and external customers with professionalism.
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in affordable housing compliance or property management.
  • Knowledge of LIHTC, HUD Project-Based Section 8, or Public Housing programs.
