Job summary

Student Transportation of America (Jacksonville, FL) is seeking a Compliance Manager to maintain employee files and ensure compliance with STA, district, and state requirements. The role supports training and recertification of drivers and monitors, using strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

Ideal candidates will have school bus experience in safety/compliance, plus the ability to prepare files for audits, liaise with district officials, and maintain accurate driver qualification

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• 2+ years of school bus experience preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail required.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required.
• Ability to work independently without direct supervision and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare employee files for delivery to the district.
• Liaise with district officials.
• Check references for potential drivers/monitors.
• Attend accidents.
• Communicate with drivers/monitors within the terminal.
• Assist with training and certification of drivers.
• Maintain driver qualification files to ensure compliance with STA, district, and state requirements.
• Enter information into internal Company databases to ensure compliance.
• May be required to drive home to school or charter routes.
• Represent STA professionally at all times.

Job Title: Compliance Manager

Reports To: VP Operations, Southeast US

Job Type: Full Time, Monday-Friday

Pay Range: Based on experience

Job Summary:

As the Compliance Manager you will be responsible for maintaining all employee files to ensure that they meet all Student Transportation of America, District, and State requirements. The Compliance Manager will also aid in training new candidates and recertification of current employees. Our ideal candidate will have previous school bus experience, preferably in safety, training and/or compliance, along with strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

• Prepare employee files for delivery to the district.
• Liaise with district officials.
• Check references for all potential drivers/monitors
• Attend accidents.
• Communicate with Drivers and Monitors within the terminal.
• Assist with Training and Certification of drivers
• Maintain driver qualification files to ensure compliance with all STA, district, and state requirements.
• Built a rapport with drivers/monitors.
• Enter information into internal Company databases to ensure continuous compliance.
• May on occasion be required to drive home to school or charter routes.
• Conduct oneself professionally and in a manner to reflect positively on STA.
• Various other duties assigned by Management.

• 2 years + School Bus Experience.
