  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Phone conversations with drivers and dispatchers must be confident.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to track multiple items.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Dependable, professional and able to manage priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Audit and maintain Driver Qualification files to ensure DOT/FMCSA compliance.
  • Monitor compliance status and identify lapses before violations.
  • Reach out to drivers, dispatchers, and fleet contacts by phone and email to gather documents.
  • Pull roadside inspection reports and MVR records for review.
  • Track training records and rosters for drivers.
  • Coordinate with Independent Contractors on qualification and leasing.
  • Support audits and assist the Director of Compliance with reporting.
  • Cross-train with Recruiting to link onboarding with qualification.

The Role

Every driver on the road for UPT and FRTL represents a standard we take seriously, and this role is part of the team that keeps that standard in place. You will work alongside an experienced compliance team, learning on the job and building real expertise in DOT and FMCSA requirements. A good part of the work is on the phone and in your inbox, reaching out to drivers, dispatchers, and other contacts to gather documents, pull reports, and keep open items moving.

What You Will Own
  • Audit and maintain Driver Qualification files to keep every driver legally compliant with DOT and FMCSA regulations
  • Monitor compliance status across the driver base and identify lapses before they become violations
  • Reach out directly to drivers, dispatchers, and fleet contacts by phone and email to gather required documentation and resolve open items
  • Pull and review roadside inspection reports and MVR records, flagging anything that needs action
  • Track and maintain training records and rosters for UPT and FRTL drivers
  • Communicate with Independent Contractors on qualification and leasing requirements
  • Support compliance audits and assist the Director of Compliance with reporting and special projects
  • Cross-train with the Recruiting team to understand how driver onboarding connects to qualification

Qualifications
What You Need
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Comfortable and confident on the phone, including with people who may be hard to reach or slow to respond
  • Strong attention to detail and a track record of following through on tasks
  • Ability to manage multiple open items at once and prioritize without losing accuracy
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Dependable, consistent, and professional in every interaction
Nice to Have
  • Prior experience in transportation, logistics, or a compliance-related role
  • Familiarity with DOT or FMCSA regulations
  • Experience with TMW, PAYCOM, or similar fleet or HR systems
  • Comfortable working with data and pulling reports from multiple systems

  • Every driver file is current, complete, and audit-ready at any point in time
  • Lapses are identified early and resolved before they create a compliance exposure
  • Drivers, dispatchers, and teammates know who to call and trust that open items will get handled

Working Conditions
