Job summary

JZ TRANSPORTATION LLC is seeking a Compliance Manager for trucking/transportation to oversee FMCSA and DOT regulatory compliance. You will manage driver qualification files, medical certificates, and Clearinghouse activities, while coordinating with drivers, dispatch, and safety teams to resolve issues.

You will ensure timely DOT physicals and CDL renewals, monitor HOS/ELD compliance, and prepare for audits.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of trucking compliance experience.
  • Strong knowledge of FMCSA and DOT regulations.
  • Experience with Driver Qualification Files and Clearinghouse.
  • Understanding of HOS, ELD and DOT drug & alcohol testing requirements.
  • Experience preparing for or managing FMCSA/DOT audits.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain company compliance with FMCSA, DOT, and state transportation regulations.
  • Monitor Driver Qualification Files, CDL, medical certificates, MVRs and other driver documentation.
  • Manage Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse compliance, including pre-employment and annual queries.
  • Ensure timely completion of DOT physicals, medical cards, CDL renewals and required certifications.
  • Monitor driver HOS/ELD compliance and identify violations.
  • Review DVIRs, inspection reports, maintenance records and vehicle compliance documentation.
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare documentation for DOT/FMCSA audits.
  • Monitor CSA scores, BASICs and FMCSA safety performance.
  • Handle and respond to DOT violations, roadside inspections and compliance issues.
  • Coordinate with drivers, dispatch, safety personnel, maintenance and management to resolve compliance issues.
  • Maintain company policies and procedures related to DOT/FMCSA regulations.
  • Track expiration dates and ensure all required permits, licenses and registrations remain current.
  • Assist with new driver onboarding and compliance verification.
  • Prepare regular compliance reports for management.
  • Stay up to date with changes in FMCSA/DOT regulations.

Requirements


  • 2+ years of experience in trucking/transportation compliance preferred

  • Strong knowledge of FMCSA and DOT regulations

  • Experience with Driver Qualification Files and Clearinghouse

  • Understanding of HOS, ELD and DOT drug & alcohol testing requirements

  • Experience preparing for or managing FMCSA/DOT audits

  • Strong organizational and documentation skills

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office / Google Workspace

  • Experience with trucking compliance software is a plus

  • CDL experience or previous experience working with a trucking company is a plus
