Schedule Details/Additional Information:

Monday-Friday business hours. Advocate may approve remote workers who reside in the following registered states: AL, AK, AR, AZ, DE, FL, GA, IA, ID, IL, IN, LA, KS, KY, ME, MI, MO, MS, MT, NC, ND, NE, NH, NM, NV, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, WI, WV, WY.

Supports the Compliance and Integrity Department with the facilitation and administration of compliance activities related to the operation of the Compliance and Integrity Program. Performs reviews, research, data analysis, investigations, tracks and analyzes compliance activities, and prepares compliance and regulatory educational materials.

Major Responsibilities:

  1. Contributes to the development, maintenance, and updating of an annual compliance work plan related to Compliance Program risks.
  2. Conducts and/or leads enterprise-focused/systemic compliance reviews, investigations, and other compliance activities, including designing and documenting review/investigatory methodologies.
  3. Assists in creating educational and communication materials for internal and external audiences on compliance issues.
  4. Performs data collection for investigations and potential compliance issues, utilizing analytical review, computer analytics, and statistical sampling techniques to identify concerns.
  5. Collaborates with various departments to obtain necessary information for reviews, risk assessments, and investigations, ensuring follow-up and tracking.
  6. Prepares reports of audits, reviews, and investigations, and facilitates or assists in designing corrective actions to promote compliant practices.
  7. Partners with leadership to establish ongoing compliance monitoring and reporting, including follow-up activities on corrective actions.
  8. Prepares reports for operational leaders and compliance committees, and creates reports for regulatory agencies as needed.
  9. Performs research related to regulatory requirements and completes special compliance projects as assigned.

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:

None required.

Education Required:

Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent knowledge) in Healthcare Administration, Medical Coding, Health Information Management, or a related health field.

Experience Required:

Typically requires 5 years of experience in a healthcare environment with knowledge of healthcare regulations, medical coding, and billing.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

  • Working knowledge of compliance-related regulations.
  • Strong computer, problem-solving, and analytical skills, including data mining to identify patterns indicating compliance issues.
  • Highly motivated, team-oriented, professional, trustworthy, with strong personal diplomacy skills.
  • Excellent presentation and writing skills for reports and educational materials.
  • Ability to handle sensitive communications with leadership, physicians, management, and legal counsel.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with ability to prepare spreadsheets and presentations.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

This position may require travel and exposure to weather and road conditions. Operates necessary equipment and works in a normal office environment.

Pay Range

$40.30 - $60.45
