Job summary

Avanath Capital Management, LLC is seeking a meticulous Compliance Auditor to join our Compliance Team. The role focuses on hard-file reviews to ensure adherence to leasing laws, safety regulations, and internal policies while supporting corrective actions and continuous compliance improvement.

Qualifications

• Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical skills
• Self-motivated, able to work independently, and prioritize tasks effectively
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
• Demonstrates a sense of urgency and the ability to meet deadlines
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
• Knowledge of Affordable Housing regulations highly desired
• Working knowledge of Yardi Voyager Property Management software highly desired

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth reviews of hard files, including lease agreements, tenant records, financial documents, and maintenance records, to assess compliance with leasing agreements, safety regulations, and fair housing laws
• Examine property records and documentation to identify discrepancies or potential compliance issues
• Collaborate with property managers and relevant staff to address compliance concerns and guide the implementation of corrective actions
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of federal, state, and local regulations related to property management and leasing
• Generate detailed audit reports highlighting findings, recommendations, and areas requiring corrective action based on hard file reviews
• Provide support for the development and implementation of compliance policies and procedures
• Stay informed about changes in property management and compliance regulations and ensure the organization remains fully compliant
• Offer guidance and training to property management teams regarding maintaining compliance through proper documentation and record-keeping
