Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Affordable Housing regulations highly desired and familiarity with Yardi Voyager Property Management software highly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth reviews of hard files to assess compliance with leasing, safety, and fair housing laws.
  • Identify discrepancies or potential compliance issues in property records and documents.
  • Collaborate with property managers to address compliance concerns and guide corrective actions.
  • Maintain understanding of federal, state, and local regulations related to property management and leasing.
  • Generate detailed audit reports with findings and recommendations for corrective action.

The Role: We are seeking a meticulous, detail-oriented Compliance Auditor to join ourCompliance Team. The Compliance Auditor, specializing in hard-file review, will play a crucial role in ensuring our files comply with all relevant laws, Affordable Care Act regulations, and internal policies. This role involves carefully examining resident files, documentation, and records to identify non-compliance issues and recommend corrective actions.

The incumbent in this role must possess a high degree of professionalism and positive engagement for our residents and the workforce.

Key Accountabilities

Compliance Management

  • Conduct in-depth reviews of hard files, including lease agreements, tenant records, financial documents, and maintenance records, to assess compliance with leasing agreements, safety regulations, and fair housing laws.
  • Examine property records and documentation toidentifydiscrepancies or potential compliance issues.
  • Collaborate with property managers and relevant staff to address compliance concerns and guide the implementation of corrective actions.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of federal, state, and local regulations related to property management and leasing.
  • Generate detailed audit reports highlighting findings, recommendations, and areas requiring corrective action based on hard file reviews.
  • Provide support for the development and implementation of compliance policies and procedures.
  • Stay informed about changes in property management and complianceregulationsand ensure the organizationremainsfully compliant.
  • Offer guidance and training to property management teamsregardingmaintainingcompliance through proper documentation and record-keeping

Adherence to Property Management Rules, Regulations and Guidelines

  • Conduct all business in accordance with company policies and procedures, Fair Housing, Americans with Disabilities Act and all other laws pertaining to the housing industry.

Physical Demands & Working Conditions

  • The incumbent in this is classified as essential staff and is expected to report to work and adhere to all safety and business protocols.
  • Frequent sitting and walking
  • Travel within the region and to other business offices and events via airline,trainsand automobiles
  • Repetitive use of computer, keyboard, mouse, and phone
  • May workinan elevated site, may walk on uneven ground.
