Job summary

The Medical College of Wisconsin, Inc. is seeking a Compliance Coordinator I to join the Division of Research and Academic Compliance.

You will execute audit plans, identify control issues, and present management reports while recommending practical improvements to compliance with laws and policies governing research and higher education. Under supervision, you will analyze problems from multiple angles, conduct HIPAA and FERPA-related reviews, and coordinate with the Office of General Counsel

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in compliance, auditing, or related field.
• Within 6 months of hire, obtain CHC, CITI, CCRP, or CCRC certification per position needs.

Responsibilities

• Execute audit plans addressing compliance risks and report results to management.
• Identify issues, analyze problems from multiple perspectives, and propose practical improvements.
• Audit accounting, financial, operating records, and education/research files using auditing principles.
• Design systematic audit plans to improve regulatory compliance and operational efficiency.
• Prepare work papers, schedules, and formal audit reports with findings and recommendations.
• Present findings to Chairs, Chiefs, and Department Administrators; train staff on results.
