Job summary

Marin County Construction Client is seeking a Compliance Administrator to partner with the Risk Manager in Marin County, CA. You will manage insurance certificates, fleet records, and safety documentation, working with multiple departments and coordinating with brokers.

This role involves office work with occasional field-site visits and industry events. You will maintain accuracy, chase renewals, and support annual insurance renewals, OSHA logs, and audits.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Compliance Administrator– Construction

Marin County, CA | Full-Time | $70,000 – $80,000

The Opportunity

Our client is a long-standing heavy civil construction contractor looking for a Compliance Administrator to be the right hand of its Risk Manager. You'll keep insurance, fleet, and safety records airtight and help the company stay ahead of its exposures. You'll work with nearly every department, including field operations, safety, legal, labor relations, estimating, and finance. Most days are spent in the office, with occasional trips to jobsites and industry events.

Your Focus Areas

Insurance & Certificates

• Own the subcontractor and vendor certificate-of-insurance tracking system: flag gaps, chase expirations, and confirm coverage matches contract requirements
• Request and send out the company's own certificates in partnership with its insurance broker
• Keep underwriters informed of higher-risk operations and weather events by staying in sync with field teams on project status and equipment locations
• Help prepare for the yearly insurance renewal, including the broker meeting and related conferences

Fleet & Equipment

• Oversee registrations and renewals for company vehicles and equipment
• Maintain the list of authorized drivers and administer California's DMV Employer Pull Notice (EPN) program
• Prepare state and federal regulatory filings and renewals tied to company equipment

Safety, Claims & Legal Support

• Gather facts, photos, and records during incident investigations
• Help assemble annual OSHA injury and illness logs (300/300A)
• Sit in on quarterly workers' compensation claim reviews and help get ready for related audits
• Pull together documentation for litigation, hearings, and insurer inquiries
• Build the agenda and materials for a monthly safety leadership meeting

Department Operations

• Keep risk department records organized, current, and easy to find
• Take on special projects as the department grows

What You Bring

• 2+ years in risk management, insurance, or compliance, or a bachelor's degree in occupational safety, risk management, business, or a similar field

Physical Requirements

Expect a mix of office time and field visits. On site, you'll deal with noise, weather, stairs, and uneven surfaces, and you'll occasionally carry up to 25 lbs.

Compensation

Pay range: $70,000 – $80,000 per year.
