Job summary

Prellis Biologics seeks a Scientist – Cell Biology & Immunology to develop and optimize our in vitro immune system platform, including lymph node organoid-based technologies, and to advance antibody discovery. The role emphasizes hands-on work with primary immune cells, flow cytometry, and functional assays in a fast-paced startup setting.

Qualifications

  • MS or PhD in Immunology, Cell Biology, Biotechnology, or a related scientific discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Design, execute, optimize, and analyze complex cell-based experiments to address key research objectives.
  • Develop and implement in vitro immune-cell culture and stimulation strategies.
  • Work hands-on in the laboratory, spending 60–80% of time conducting experiments.
  • Troubleshoot experimental challenges and improve protocols.
  • Isolate, culture, expand, and characterize primary human immune cells using aseptic techniques.
  • Work with B cells, T cells, antigen-presenting cells, and other immune-cell populations.
  • Contribute to development and optimization of in vitro immune-system platforms.
  • Investigate immune-cell activation, proliferation, differentiation, and signaling.
  • Design and execute multiparameter flow cytometry experiments for profiling.
  • Develop flow cytometry panels and analyze datasets.
  • Perform fluorescence-activated cell sorting for antigen-specific populations.
  • Utilize beads-based enrichment approaches when appropriate.
  • Develop, optimize, and execute functional assays for antibody and TCR discovery.
  • Develop assays to evaluate antigen-specific B- and T-cell responses.
  • Create ELISA and protein-based assays, plus cell-based screening approaches.
  • Contribute to assay development for challenging targets.
  • Contribute to antibody discovery programs with in vitro technologies.
  • Support identification of antigen-specific B cells and antibody-secreting cells.
  • Collaborate with engineers, bioinformaticians, and other teams.
