Job summary

CFS is seeking a Compensation and Benefits Specialist in Grand Rapids, MI, onsite. The role focuses on managing comprehensive benefits programs, payroll-related processes, and HRIS administration within a growing, employee-owned manufacturing environment.

The successful candidate will analyze compensation and benefits data, support open enrollment, maintain accurate records, and partner with payroll and leadership to improve processes and employee experience. This is a hands-on, visibility role.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support a comprehensive benefits program including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, FSA, wellness initiatives, and 401(k) plans.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for employee benefit and compensation-related questions, ensuring a positive employee experience.
• Partner with HR, payroll, and leadership teams to ensure accurate and timely processing of employee changes and compensation updates.
• Leverage Workday and ADP to maintain employee data, benefit enrollments, compensation records, and reporting.
• Coordinate open enrollment activities and assist with benefit renewals, audits, and vendor relationships.
• Resolve benefit administration issues while working directly with insurance carriers and third-party providers.
• Support compensation administration, including pay-related inquiries and policy interpretation.
• Process and monitor payroll deductions, garnishments, and benefit-related transactions.
• Prepare reports, analyze compensation and benefits data, and provide insights to support HR initiatives.
• Maintain accurate employee records and ensure compliance with applicable regulations and company policies.
• Backup to payroll and additional HR functions
