Petco is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to provide compassionate patient care and exceptional client service in our Vet hospital setting. The role includes assisting veterinarians with exams, surgeries, and treatments, managing medical records, and supporting front desk operations.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and patients and escort to exam room, record vital signs and EMR entries.
• Assist doctors with routine, emergency, surgery, dentistry, and euthanasia under supervision.
• Restrain patients, collect samples, dispense medications per vet direction, maintain EMR.
• Schedule appointments, educate clients, relay test results, maintain records.
• Prepare patients for surgery/dentistry and assist during anesthesia and recovery.
• Provide in-hospital treatments and monitor patients under vet/tech supervision.
• Support training of new staff and maintain a clean hospital environment.
• Provide backup front desk/phone support as needed.
