Job summary

Town and Country Animal Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support a multi-specialty veterinary team. You will assist with patient care, monitor hospitalized pets, and help with post-surgical care, diagnostics, and everyday hospital tasks.

Ideal candidates enjoy working with animals, can multitask, and contribute to a positive team environment. No prior experience required, but a passion for animal welfare is essential.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years old or older.
• Able to multitask and be a team player.
• Genuinely enjoys working with animals and can handle stressed animals.
• Experience preferred but not required.
• Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care and treatment
• Monitor hospitalized pets and assist after surgery
• Maintain inventory and stocking
• Restrain animals during blood draws and nail trims
• Aide with routine diagnostic tests (e.g., radiographs, bloodwork, fecal tests)
• Sterilize and maintain surgical instruments/equipment
• Clean/Disinfect cages, kennels, and exam areas
• Administer medications under supervision
• Feeding and bathing animals
• Answer phones and help clients with their pets
