Ideal candidates bring at least 1 year in a veterinary setting, excellent communication, and a team-oriented mindset to support daily patient care and client interactions.

Qualifications

• Preferred to have at least 1-year previous experience working in veterinary practice.
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be compassionate and sympathetic, and able to maintain a professional attitude during stressful situations.
• Must have telephone and computer skills.
• Must be a team player willing to learn new techniques and accept change.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and patients arriving for appointments and escort to exam room; record weight and vitals.
• Assist doctors with routine and emergency appointments, surgery, dentistry, and euthanasia under supervision.
• Handle restraint; process labs; dispense medications as directed; maintain EMR.
• Schedule appointments; educate clients; relay test results; keep records updated.
• Prepare patients for procedures; monitor anesthesia and recovery; discharge or transfer as needed.
• Perform in-hospital treatments and care, including medications and IV fluids.
• Assist in training new staff and share knowledge as required.
• Keep hospital environment neat and clean; follow maintenance schedule.
