Job summary

Dwight Veterinary Clinic is seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Receptionist to be the primary contact for clients and their pets. You will balance administrative precision with warmth across a range of interactions, including emotionally sensitive situations.

The role requires at least 1 year of frontline veterinary reception experience and familiarity with practice management software. Benefits include medical/dental/vision insurance, PTO, and a 401(k).

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a veterinary receptionist.
• Familiarity with veterinary practice management software.
• Knowledge of veterinary terminology and vaccination protocols.
• Proficient in scheduling, multi-line phone management, and payment processing.
• Strong written and verbal communication; calm under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in clients and patients, verify and update medical records using practice software.
• Answer a multi-line phone system and schedule appointments; handle refills and records requests.
• Process payments, post charges, explain invoices, and schedule follow-ups.
• Communicate medical information and care instructions compassionately, including end-of-life discussions.
• Maintain EMR/PIMS data entry and coordinate with team to manage patient flow.
• Keep reception area clean and organized to ensure a positive client experience.
