Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or veterinary assistant certification preferred.
• Two years of experience in a similar veterinary clinic or animal shelter.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in scheduling software and digital record systems.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Compassion for animals and commitment to client service excellence.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and visitors at the front desk.
• Schedule appointments and manage calendars.
• Answer phone calls and relay messages to staff.
• Maintain accurate client records and update contacts.
• Follow up on treatment plans and post-visit care instructions.
• Assist with client check-in and check-out procedures.
• Coordinate front desk tasks, data entry and inventory.
• Support billing inquiries and direct clients to resources.
• Assist veterinarians and techs during appointments and exams.
• Safely handle and restrain animals in a calm manner.
• Prepare exam rooms and equipment before and after appointments.
• Record patient histories and vital signs in medical records.
