Job summary

Journeys In Community Living is seeking a dependable Van Driver to safely transport people supported to and from homes, appointments, activities, shopping, and outings. Work hours are Monday - Friday 7a-9:30a and 1:30p-3:30p, providing essential transportation with a focus on dignity and safety.

The role requires at least 3 years of driving, a Tennessee Class D license with F endorsement, and a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years old.
Minimum 3 years of driving experience.
Valid Tennessee Class D Driver's License with F endorsement.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience working with people with disabilities and/or operating a van, bus, or truck preferred.
Strong communication, organization, and independent work skills.

Responsibilities

Safely operate agency vehicles and follow all traffic laws.
Ensure passengers are properly secured and assist with entering/exiting the vehicle.
Safely secure wheelchairs and other mobility equipment.
Provide respectful, reliable transportation and support.
Complete required documentation and follow individual support plans.
Maintain vehicle cleanliness, fuel levels, and safety equipment.
Report maintenance or safety concerns promptly.
Maintain confidentiality and follow all agency policies and procedures.
