Encompass Health Corporation is seeking a Unit Secretary to support the nursing unit and ensure seamless patient care in a community-focused environment. You will provide vital clerical support, coordinate unit operations, and serve as a resource for patients, families, staff, and visitors.

Qualifications

• CPR certification preferred.
• One year inpatient unit secretary experience preferred.
• Active enrollment in a healthcare program (e.g., nursing) preferred.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and experience reading/transcribing orders preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain complete and accurate medical records for patients using labeling system.
• Transcribe medical orders accurately and distribute to relevant disciplines.
• Serve as a friendly resource for patients, families, staff and visitors at the nursing station.
• Coordinate unit operations to optimize safe patient care delivery.
• Schedule tests, appointments and transportation as needed in a timely manner.
• Act as a liaison for inquiries and route them to the appropriate person.
