Qualifications

• Valid NC Driver’s License with clean driving record.
• 21+ years old, good moral character, and care for elderly/disabled.
• Currently registered with NC-DFS as a Nursing Assistant or EMT.
• Current CPR certification (American Heart Association).
• Ability to plan, organize, and follow up on work assignments.
• Ability to make independent decisions and work under pressure.
• Flexibility in performing different tasks.
• Transportation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all aspects of transporting residents of the facility.
• Assure proper maintenance of all facility vehicles.
• Represent the facility professionally with medical providers during patient transport.
• Make all appointments for patients and maintain a calendar of appointments.
• Maintain required logs for each transport and each vehicle.
• Ensure routine maintenance on vehicles used for transport.
• Establish and maintain a maintenance schedule for each vehicle.
• Coordinate with community, hospital, and other health care facilities.
• Take specimens and other items to hospital/clinic as requested.
• Make purchases from local suppliers as requested.
