Job summary

The Patient Care Associate (PCA) at DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital in Detroit, MI, joins the patient care services team to deliver direct and indirect support under RN supervision. You will help ensure compassionate care and respond to patient needs with professionalism and empathy.

Responsibilities include assisting with activities of daily living, monitoring patient condition changes, documenting observations, and supporting the care team to maintain safety, privacy, and comfort.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduation from a school of practical nursing or equivalent training.
• Completion of one of the following: Certified PCA/PCT Program; CNA Program; Medical Assistant Program; EMT program; Phlebotomy training.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with care team to ensure quality of care.
• Performs basic patient care tasks under RN supervision.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living.
• Reports changes in patient condition to the RN.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and privacy.
• Answers phones and greets patients as needed.
• Participates in ongoing training and competency maintenance.
• Performs general clerical duties as assigned.
