Tenet Healthcare is seeking a Patient Care Associate (PCA) to support the patient care services team at DMC Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital in Commerce Township, MI. The PCA works under the supervision of a registered nurse to deliver direct and indirect patient care and to report any changes in patient conditions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Completion of PCA/PCT, CNA, Medical Assistant, EMT or phlebotomy programs.
• Six months direct patient care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with care team to ensure quality of care.
• Performs basic patient care activities under RN supervision and reports changes in patient condition.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living (feeding, bathing, toileting, hygiene).
• Follows departmental policies and infection control standards.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and explains procedures to patients and families.
