Highpoint Health - Winchester with Ascension Saint Thomas in Winchester, TN, is seeking a Switchboard Operator to join a fast-paced, collaborative team. You’ll handle inbound calls, route inquiries, manage emergency communications, and support ER registration and patient access operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time in a fast-paced environment.
• Remain calm, organized, and accurate during high-stress or emergency situations.
• Dependable, flexible, and able to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
• Strong teamwork and willingness to assist across functions.
• Basic computer skills and ability to enter/retrieve information.

Responsabilités

• Serve as a key member of Switchboard and ER Registration, cross-training and providing support across functions.
• Answer and route incoming hospital calls, respond to inquiries, connect callers to departments or team members.
• Manage overhead paging, emergency calls, codes, and other urgent communications.
• Maintain current patient, employee, on-call, and other information to support patient access and hospital communications.
• Assist with ER patient registration, collecting and entering demographic, insurance, billing, and other required information.
• Support insurance verification, point-of-service collections, and other Patient Access tasks.
• Provide professional, compassionate service to patients, families, visitors, callers, and staff, even in urgent times.
• Effectively manage multiple calls and priorities in a high-volume environment.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure department responsibilities are completed efficiently.
• Stay aware of current processes, schedules, and operational changes.
• Protect patient privacy and confidentiality while maintaining accuracy.
• Perform other duties to support Patient Access and hospital operations.
