Job summary

Fillmore Elementary School in South Putnam Community School Corporation is seeking a dedicated Student Support Aide to assist both elementary and preschool students, supporting classroom activities, behavior, health needs, and front desk coverage.

Under certified staff, you will help implement behavior plans, assist with preschool coordination, supervise during transitions and meals, provide basic nursing support, and maintain confidentiality in all interactions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in education, early childhood, or healthcare preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to support students.
• Ability to remain calm in behavioral or health-related situations.
• RBT certification is a plus, but not required.
• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Support students with behavioral, developmental, or emotional needs in elementary and preschool settings.
• Implement and reinforce behavior plans developed by licensed staff.
• Assist preschool teachers and administration with preschool coordination efforts.
• Supervise students during transitions, recess, and lunch periods.
• Provide basic nursing support, including first aid and documentation for students awaiting pickup.
• Cover front desk duties as needed, including phones, visitors, sign-in logs, and clerical tasks.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions and documentation.
