Job summary

New Fairfield Public Schools is seeking a Paraeducator (Elementary) to support teachers and students across classrooms, resource rooms, and community-based settings. Qualifications

• At least 1 year of relevant experience preferred.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required

Responsibilities

• Works with individual students or small groups in various settings (classroom, resource room, community-based learning).
• Assists teachers in implementing instructional programs and behavioral supports.
• Maintains and records data on student progress and helps monitor testing.
• Supports students in following classroom rules and routines.
• Assists with accommodations and modifications described in IEPs and 504 plans.
• Prepares instructional materials and supports organization of classroom supplies.
• Supervises students during tests, makeup work, and independent study.
