Job summary

Putnam County Educational Service Center is seeking an individual to assist students with special needs. Responsibilities include providing support in classroom preparations, supervising students, and ensuring their safety during instructional activities.

The ideal candidate should have a motivation to work with children with disabilities and the physical ability to assist with their needs. Starting pay is $18.60 per hour with benefits including enrollment in the School Employees Retirement System.

Qualifications

• Experience and/or desire to work with children with special needs and disabilities preferred.
• Candidate should be able to assist in classroom preparations under teacher guidance.
• Must be able to lift or carry students including wheelchair transfers.
• Must pass criminal background checks and maintain Educational Aide Permit.

Responsibilities

• Assist in classroom preparations and instructional activities.
• Provide close supervision to students while ensuring their safety.
• Support students in seeking independence with necessary precautions.

Skills
