Job summary

Families in Transition in Manchester, NH is seeking a Participant Support Specialist to be the heartbeat of our adult emergency shelter. You’ll supervise resident activities, help maintain a safe, clean environment, and provide compassionate, professional care that directly supports residents.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and authorized to work in the US.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Willingness to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends (based on shift choice).
• Background check required after offer.

Responsibilities

• Create Sanctuary: Supervise resident activities, de-escalate behavioral issues, and keep the environment safe, clean, and secure through light housekeeping and maintenance.
• Keep Things Moving: Welcome new residents, assign beds, explain program rules, monitor supplies, and maintain accurate daily logs/incident reports.
• Be a Guardian: Provide vital awake shift coverage and maintain strict grounds security to protect residents and teammates.
• Have a Voice: Contribute direct feedback on shelter policies to help improve services for the community.
