Job summary

Families in Transition in Manchester is hiring a Support Staff member to help operate the Family Shelter, ensuring a safe, clean and welcoming environment for people experiencing homelessness.

This part-time role includes early morning and weekend shifts, documenting safety and medical concerns, assisting with supplies, and engaging with participants to support daily operations.

Base pay is $18 per hour, with Equal Employment Opportunity employer statement.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe, clean, and non-threatening environment to persons experiencing homelessness.
• Document safety, security, participant behaviors, medical concerns, and other issues.
• Monitor and request supplies as necessary.
• Communicate with participants and support engagement and daily operations.
• Participate in housekeeping and ensure a safe environment.

Through providing input on policies and programs, this role assists with identification and implementation of actions for continuous improvement in Shelter offerings and operations that aligns with our mission in serving the most vulnerable population. This position performs activities to support effective daily operations of the Shelter; including documenting safety, security, participant behaviors, medical concerns, and any other issue; monitor and request supplies as necessary; communicate with participants; participants engagement; housekeeping as necessary; always maintaining awareness to ensure a safe and clean environment.

Available shift: 1st shift(Saturday & Sunday) 8:00 am-04:30 Pm(Part time)

Base Pay :$18 per hour

Minimum Requirements (Education/Experience/Certificates/Licenses):

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Understanding and knowledge of housing safety concerns.
• Demonstrated proficiency in excellent customer service.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with mental health or substance use disorders preferred.
