Job summary

Mercy House seeks an Overnight Shelter Specialist to support the Emergency Shelter Program in Phoenix. This part-time, non-exempt role offers a $22/hour pay rate for overnight work, with Saturday-Sunday night coverage and weekday off.

You will perform nightly deep cleans, wellness checks, provide emergency support, and assist with program logistics such as food distribution and transportation. Strong communication and trauma-informed care are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and trauma-informed approach are essential.
• Ability to work with a diverse, vulnerable population.
• CPR certification is required or will be provided as a condition of employment.
• Spanish language skills are a plus in serving the community.

Responsibilities

• Perform nightly deep cleans and maintain facility safety.
• Conduct wellness checks on residents during overnight shifts.
• Provide emergency support and follow established procedures.
• Assist with program logistics such as food distribution and transportation.
• File incident reports and communicate concerns to security and staff.
