Job summary

Discovery Senior Living in Independence, IA is seeking a Driver to provide timely transportation for residents to activities and events, assist passengers in and out of the vehicle, and help secure wheelchairs during trips. You will help keep community vehicles clean and well-maintained, and support with registration and licensing renewal tasks where needed.

Requirements include a high school diploma, being 21 or older, and a valid CDL may be required with a clean driving record per FDOT.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service environment preferred.
• Must be 21 years or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current CDL may be required with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely and courteous transportation for residents to activities.
• Assist disabled passengers into and out of the vehicle.
• Secure passengers’ wheelchairs to restraints during trips.
• Operates radio, cell phone, or pager to communicate with base.
• Maintain all community vehicles in good working condition.
• Keep vehicles clean and serviced with fuel and lubricants.
• Assist with vehicle registration and license renewal processes.
